Adrian Coxson

Adrian Coxson (Baltimore City College, Baltimore, MD) verbally committed to the lions back in April. If there is one player in this class that has allot of game film available for review, its Coxson. Type his name into you tube (or see some videos on my sidebar) and you'll get hoards of highlights on this blue chipper. As a junior Coxson reeled in 40 catches for 12 touchdowns and nearly 1000 yds.
Coxson is not a track star, but I wouldn't call him slow. He is a physical receiver who uses his size, strength, and route running to make plays. At the high school level he is nearly impossible to jam off the line. He does a good job of adjusting to the ball, high pointing it, and using his strength to beat the defender to the ball. Coxson displays amazing hands and seems to snatch the ball out of the air. Once he has the ball he makes quick sharp cuts and always seems to have enough of and extra gear to take it to the house. If I had to compare him to an NFL receiver, I'd say Larry Fitzgerald.

Whats new with Coxson: Coxson, like many great athletes in high school, is lining up under center for his senior year. Without a capable QB his coach has looked to his play maker to get the job done running the wildcat. Through four games Coxson has rushed for nearly 500 yards and 5 touchdowns. Coxson may take some visits to other schools, but you have to imagine he's liking the class of players the lions have recruited around him.

Wrap up - Penn State went out and got themselves the best receiver in the northeast, Coxson may be the most physically ready wider in the country. If the lions can hang on to this recruit, he should pay dividends early and often.
